Field Crew Supervisor (Dairy Forage Research Center)

The main responsibility of this position is leading an efficient and effective field crew. Assure all protocols are followed in the production of feed, research and commercial crops. Completing necessary reporting on production and purchase of supplies. Since US DFRC is a unique partnership between USDA and UW this position works closely with the USDA farm manager/agronomist while reporting to the UW herd manager. Other duties will include operating all station equipment, calibrating and programming precision ag controllers and monitors, facility maintenance, manure removal and application and monitoring some feed inventories. This position uses the employees experience to complete the necessary task with general supervision.
To be successful in this position you must also exhibit a positive working attitude, communicate well and develop a good working relationship with co-workers and supervisors and show initiative to see what needs to be done and to get it done.
